How Many Folds are in a Leaflet?
These are the popular kinds of folds in leaflets. Letter Fold: The folds are parallel to each other and in the same direction. It is also known as a tri-fold or a roll fold. Gate Fold: A gatefold is formed when two equal-sized side panels fold into a larger panel. When opened, this looks like opening a gate or a door. Concertina Fold or Z Fold: Much like an accordion, a concertina is a continuous parallel folding in which the panels are folded once to the front and then to the back in an alternative zigzag fashion.
What is a Double Gatefold?
Similar to a gatefold, a double gatefold is made by folding both sides of paper into two equal sections – creating two side panels on each side of the sheet – and folding the interior (or centre panel) panel into half. So, unlike a gatefold that has three sections in the front and back, a double gatefold has four sections each in the front and back.
What is a Closed Gatefold?
When a gate fold’s interior panel is folded one more time along a crease in the middle, it is called a double gatefold or a closed gatefold. The closed gatefold creates eight panels for printing – 4 each on either side of the brochure.
